Professor Cassandra L. Hill is the founder of Prep for Law, a legal writing and law school preparation business. Professor Hill also is an Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Legal Writing Program at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, where she teaches legal writing and supervises a writing assistants program and writing center. She is a member of the editorial board and current Managing Editor of the Monograph Series, a publication of the Legal Writing Institute, and has written several articles and presented research on law school pedagogy and assessment. Prior to joining the faculty at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, she was a judicial law clerk for United States District Court Judge Vanessa Gilmore and then an associate at the law firm of Baker Botts L.L.P., where she specialized in tax and employee benefits law. She began her teaching career at UCLA School of Law in legal writing and lawyering skills. Professor Hill received her J.D. from Howard University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Virginia.
